DC SOLICITS FULSOME SUPPORT AND COOPERATION FROM MCs/ SARPANCHS/ PANCHS TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE AGAINST COVID 19
( HNI BUREAU ) : Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Ghanshyam Thori today solicited fulsome support and cooperation from the Municipal Councilors and Sarpanchs/ Panchs or making the people aware against the scourge of Covid 19 pandemic under the ‘Mission Fateh’ launched by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
In a letter through the Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jalandhar and District Development and Panchayat Officer, the Deputy Commissioner catgegorically said that the support of elected representatives was must for generating awareness amongst the people for combating the Corona Virus effectively. He said that the teams of the Health department conduct door to door survey in the Micro containment and containment zones for tracing the Covid effected patients. Mr. Thori said that the elected representatives of the people must help these teams for conducting the survey effectively so that symptomatic patients could be traced.
Likewise, the Deputy Commissioner said that the elected representatives should also come forward and help the administration in keeping a check over the persons who have been Home Quarantined. He said that with the support of people the elected representatives must ensure that if any person breaks Home quarantine then he gets punished as per the provisions of law because he was endangering the lives of people through this act. Mr. Thori said that the participation of the elected representatives was the need of hour to ensure that more and more awareness was generated at the grass root level against the Covid 19 pandemic.
The Deputy Commissioner said that since the elected representatives from Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Panchayats were well connected at the grass root levels so they could act as a catalyst in awakening the people in this hour of crisis. He hoped that this would help in transforming the ‘Mission Fateh’ campaign of the Chief Minister into a mass movement. Mr. Thori said that it was the moral duty of every individual to participate in the drive aimed at resurgence of state from Covid 19.
